The Montana BioScience Alliance holds annual board meeting

The Montana BioScience Alliance annual board meeting was held on October 9, 2011 at the Native American Center, University of Montana.   The current officers were reelected: Rob Bargatze, Chairman, David Gibson, Secretary and Carol Beam treasurer.   Joe Fanguy was elected to replace Rich Bridges on the board.  We are very grateful for the many years Rich has devoted to the Montana BioScience Alliance and hope that he will stay involved.   We do welcome Joe Fanguy and are looking forward to his energy and inspiration.
Following the meeting a reception was held at the Native American Center.
The annual meeting of the Alliance on October 10 brought us a Welcome from Joe Fanguy followed by a meeting overview and introductions by Robert Bargatze.  David Poulsen gave an update on University of Montana research  including a new Translation Research initiative.   We then heard presentations by Ateris, Sinapis and Dr. Rich Bridges updating us on organizations.  Montana enterprises presenting were Suresh Daniel from Rocky Mountain Biologicals, Ron Zook from Swan Valley Medical and Matthews Bradley from SAJE Pharma.  Our luncheon keynotes were, Scott Olsen and Bill O’Brien from Amgen.
This was followed by an update on Montana’s SBIR match from Dave Desch,  U.S. Senate  from JJ Adams, GlaxoSmithKline from Ann Simons and PhRma from Leslie Rosedahl.  Participants were then invited to tour the Skaggs building.
